Finally, an overland journey through the Altiplano allows you to take in the vast emptiness of the high plains, before arriving at the shore of the world's highest navigable lake, Titicaca.

Cusco, Machu Picchu and Titicaca Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco to the Sacred Valley

You are met at the airport in Cusco and escorted to the Sacred Valley. At this lower elevation, you enjoy a thoughtful, guided tour of the Pisac market and ruins, as well as the fortress of Ollantaytambo. Enjoy a delicious lunch, while taking in the incredible mountain scenery. Overnight in the valley for a rested visit of Machu Picchu the next day. (Meals - L)
Day 2: Train to Machu Picchu

Transfer to the train station for our scenic ride through lush Andean vegetation towards Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, your guide will lead you to the bus to begin the climb to the ruins. With your guide's assistance and knowledge, explore the astonishing ruins at a comfortable pace. After your tour, return to town to catch the train back to the Valley for the evening. (Meals - B)
Day 3: Exploring Cusco's Rich History

An early morning transfer to Cusco through and over the Sacred Valley allows for breathtaking sights of the Vilcanota Mountain range. In Cusco, enjoy a guided tour of the principal Inca and Spanish historical and archeological sights. Evening at leisure to enjoy one of the many fine restaurants in Cusco's historical center. (Meals - B)
Day 4: Across the Altiplano

Today we travel from Cusco to the lakeside town of Puno. Depending on the package, you travel either by bus or train. This journey takes you through the Altiplano, which affords incredible opportunities to take in Andean landscapes. Upon arrival in Puno, you have the evening at leisure. (Meals - B, L)
Day 5: Exploring Lake Titicaca

Today's adventure takes you to Lake Titicaca to explore the remote island of Taquile which has been home to an Aymara population for hundreds of years, and also served as a penal colony. We also have a cultural visit to the Uros, floating island communities built upon rafts of reeds. (Meals - B, L)
Day 6: Sillustani and Return Home

Morning departure in the direction of Juliaca to catch our flight home. On the way we enjoy a visit to one of Puno's most important archeological sites, Silustani, home to strange, cylindrical burial structures.
