Rio de Janeiro Tour:
Rainforest Cruises takes you to Rio de Janeiro, world-renowned home of Carnival, Samba, Bossa Nova, and Caipirinhas. Commonly referred to as 'Rio', this is undoubtedly one of South America's most beautiful cities, and a must-see addition to your Amazon River tour.
Our tour begins with your arrival to Rio, Brazil's second largest city. Upon arrival, you are transferred to your comfortable hotel near the beach, for a few days of pleasure and relaxation. Our beach of choice is Ipanema, but if Copacabana is on your mind, we can easily substitute.
This shortened itinerary includes only one day of guided tours. We take you to the two most famous Brazilian landmarks: Corcovado and Sugar Loaf Mountain. Corcovado Mountain is home to the Christ Redeemer Statue - an iconic structure commonly associated with Rio, in particular, and Brazil in general. Sugar Loaf Mountain, a granite and quartz peak rising from the water's edge, is accessible by cable-car, and affords panoramic views of the entire city.
The remainder of your time in Rio is spent any way you like, but most travelers decide to unwind at the beach with a cold beverage in hand - in Rio they serve them right on the beach!

Rio de Janeiero Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro

You are met at the airport in Rio and escorted to your hotel, conveniently situated near Ipanema or Copacabana Beach. Depending on your arrival time, you either have the day to explore the city, or rest in your comfortable hotel. Rio boasts some truly spectacular nightlife, so if you are up for some fun, take a stroll on Ipanema's boulevard!
Day 2: Guided Visit to Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf

After breakfast in your hotel you are collected for the day's guided tour. Your excursion begins by entering the Tijuca forest en route to the Christ Redeemer statue. The rest of the morning is reserved for a meal and walking tour of the city center. In the afternoon, you visit Sugar Loaf, taking the cable car to the summit to enjoy spectacular views of Rio and her beaches. (Meals - B, L)
Day 3: A "Whatever" Day

Take the day to enjoy yourself. Whether you are interested in shopping, fine dining, soft adventure, or a cold drink in the warm sand, you can find it in Rio. Most people go for a cold beer or caipirinha (a local rum drink), which are sold right on the beach, so break in your new flip-flops and enjoy a day in the sun! (Meals - B)
Day 4: Return Home

After an exciting visit to hot-blooded Rio, you are transferred to the airport for your flight home.
