Jimmy– Travel Specialist
Having first come to South America for a three-month trip, Jimmy found that he was going to need a lot more time to fully explore this beautiful continent. He has now called Peru home for the last 9 years, and a holiday for him is now considered a trip back to his native England! Having always been a keen traveler, he worked for the UN in Rome for years before settling in South America.
Jimmy has visited most of the countries in South America and is a particular fan of the rainforest and its bird population. Highlights of his stay have included taking his mother to Machu Picchu for her 60th birthday, working as former Italian international footballer Roberto Baggio’s personal interpreter in rural Cusco and his various tours of remote parts of South America with his soccer team. He has travelled the length and breadth of Peru and scaled its heights, from sea level in Los Organos in the morning to a remote alpaca farm in the Peruvian Andes at 5600m above sea level. The newest member of the Rainforest Cruises, he lives in Lima with his Peruvian wife and two children.

The Amazon Star Cruise in Peru
The 31-passenger Amazon Star is indeed a shining star in the Peruvian Amazon cruise fleet, with her 8-day itinerary voted one of the “25 Greatest Adventures in the World” by National Geographic Adventure Magazine.
With over 34 years experience in Amazon River cruises, her owners were one of the pioneers of tourism in the region, and in 2013 took all their experience and knowledge to create this beautiful riverboat.
