Kanee Pandaw

A colonial-style riverboat offering immersive journeys through the culture-rich Irrawaddy Delta.

Overview

Elegant, intimate, and purpose-built for adventure, Kanee Pandaw offers one of the most authentic ways to explore the legendary Irrawaddy. Combining classic colonial-era river styling with the spirit of expedition cruising, this boutique vessel journeys through remote regions of Burma where dramatic landscapes, traditional villages, and ancient Buddhist culture remain deeply connected to the river.

Kanee Pandaw is a beautifully crafted boutique river ship designed specifically for navigating the Irrawaddy’s shifting channels and remote waterways. Built in Pandaw’s signature colonial style, the vessel blends polished teak, brass detailing, and wide open decks to create an atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and refined.

With a small guest capacity and attentive crew, Kanee Pandaw offers an intimate and highly personalised cruising experience. The ship’s shallow draft allows it to reach destinations inaccessible to larger vessels, opening the door to some of the Irrawaddy’s most untouched and culturally rich regions

Life On Board

Accommodation aboard Kanee Pandaw consists of comfortable air-conditioned staterooms featuring panoramic French windows, quality bedding, handcrafted wood finishes, and ensuite bathrooms. The design emphasizes classic river-cruise elegance while maintaining a relaxed and informal atmosphere suited to expedition-style travel.

Social spaces include an open-air observation deck, shaded promenade areas, lounge bar, and restaurant serving a mix of regional Southeast Asian and international cuisine. Guests can relax with a drink while watching remote riverside life drift by or join onboard lectures and cultural presentations led by knowledgeable local guides.

The onboard experience is immersive rather than overly formal—focused on authentic exploration, meaningful encounters, and scenic slow travel.

Delta Delights

Kanee Pandaw operates journeys around Burma’s Irrawaddy Delta. The itinerary explores one of Southeast Asia’s most scenic and culturally significant waterways shaped by centuries of trade and spiritual tradition. The delta’s combination of dramatic landscapes and cultural authenticity makes it especially rewarding for travelers seeking a deeper and more adventurous river experience.

A journey aboard Kanee Pandaw feels like stepping back into the golden age of river exploration—where every bend in the Irrawaddy reveals hidden villages, jungle-covered hills, and centuries-old traditions still thriving along the water’s edge.

Ideal for culturally curious travelers, photographers, and expedition-minded explorers, Kanee Pandaw offers the rare privilege of discovering the Irrawaddy slowly and intimately—returning with a deeper connection to one of Asia’s last truly untamed rivers.
