Overview
Samata luxury liveaboard is a 138-ft yacht that combines traditional Indonesian Phinisi design with contemporary French interior styling. She accommodates up to ten guests and two additional children in five deluxe suites for bespoke private charter cruises, including dedicated dive cruises, through the clear warm waters and spectacular islands of the Indonesian archipelago.
Life on board
On board, you’ll find an array of sumptuous living areas laid out invitingly to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There are three wooden decks including the main deck with a dining area for leisurely alfresco lunches and dinners under the stars, and an upper deck with sun loungers for soaking up the sun and gazing at the Indonesian seascapes. Below deck is a stylish dining room with white leather booth seating and a polished wooden bar, wraparound windows that provide natural light, high quality table linen and cutlery.
The indoor living area is outfitted with yielding leather sofas and decorated with accents of the tropics, utilizing materials such as white oak, coconut and mother of pearl. Entertainment is provided with a reading library, board games, a flat-screen TV with on-demand viewing, marine stereo speakers and iPod docking systems. Cabins come in the form of a master suite with its own private sundeck, and four deluxe suites with queen or twin beds, and sofas that can also function as extra beds. All have ensuite bathrooms with showers and added touches such as the one thousand thread-count sheets, complimentary stocked minibars and flat-screen TVs with on-demand movies.

With 14 crew members onboard the Samata Yacht, you can look forward to being pampered for the entire voyage. The cruise director and guide will help you plan bespoke itineraries to amazing places, and the massage therapist will soothe your muscles with therapeutic massages. Two tenders are available for exploration of secluded coves and beaches, while water sports equipment includes snorkelling gear, kayaks, wakeboards, water skis and two underwater cameras to use at your leisure.

Itineraries & Prices
Embarkation
You will be greeted at Labuan Bajo airport by a member of the Samata team and taken directly to the ship; approximately 15 minutes. After being welcomed on board and introduced to the ship's crew you will be given a tour of your new home for the next few nights. As the boat slowly begins to cruise out of the harbor the cruise director will provide a short briefing regarding safety procedures and discuss the itinerary and available activities during your stay.
Depending on the time we may stop for some snorkeling, diving or stroll on the beach.
Komodo National Park
The north and northwest area of Komodo National park offers clear waters and shallow reefs perfect for snorkeling or diving. This area also offers the chance to witness larger animals gliding by you, as manta rays, eagle rays, sharks and large schools of fish frequent this area.
Linta Strait
Linta Strait also known as ‘current city’ invites you into the water with stunning reefs fantastic for both diving and snorkeling. Water from the Pacific ocean in the north flows through this strait to the Indian ocean in the south and vice versa, feeding some of the healthiest reefs in the world. Famous sites such ‘Batu Bolong’, ‘Tatawa Besar’ and Manta Point offer the opportunity to experience large schools of vibrant colored fish, turtles, Manta Rays and the occasional dolphin. In the evening you be will swept away to the beach where you will dine under the stars with our special beach BBQ.
Disembarkation
Today we will walk with Dragons! The trek on Rinca Island can be as long or short as you wish. With great picturesque views and chances to see the world-famous Komodo Dragon, Timor dear, wild boar, water buffalo and many endemic bird species.

Cruise to a Small Island for Lunch and have the opportunity for some Incredible snorkeling, diving or beachcombing. We will cruise into sunset on our way to our anchorage for the night.
Sebayur Island, Pulau Mesa & Pulau Kaaba
In the morning you can start your day with your favorite Indonesian coffee or tea and made to order breakfast. The two islands in this area are perfect for a dive or snorkel. With a calm area for diving or a little more current for a relaxed drifting snorkel above the active and vibrant coral reef.
At lunch time we can cruise to Pulau Mesa and afterwards take a stroll through this traditional fishing village and experience the daily lives of the ‘Bajau People’. Later we will make a short cruise to Pulau Kaaba where we will have more time for water activities before the amazing show of fruit bats or ‘flying foxes’ starts. At sunset thousands of bats will fly overhead on their journey to Flores Island for the night. After the sunset we will make another short cruise to Pulau Wainilu where we will anchor for the night.
Rinca Island
Today is the day we will walk with dragons! Rinca Island offers the best opportunity to trek inland to experience the incredible wildlife in the Komodo national park. The park rangers will guide you through your choice of short, medium or long treks. After returning to the boat we will have breakfast and move to Mauan island. This small island is a great place to try and see Manta Rays either snorkeling or diving. We can set up the umbrellas and have a nice lunch on the soft white sand beach.
In the afternoon we will make another short cruise to Padar island.
Padar Island
Another spectacular viewpoint awaits those who are up for a trek to the top for this iconic view. Padar is never easy to leave, you may day dream of becoming lost in these Islands. This is a great location for kayaking, paddle boarding, diving or exploring around hidden bays for private time along the beaches.
Disembarkation

Just a little way off Moyo Island there are a couple of nice reef systems with great snorkeling or diving. About 3 hrs from here sits the Island of Satonda; where you can make a short trek inland to see the picturesque volcanic lake. Satonda also has great snorkeling and diving. In the early evening, we will make the overnight cruise to Sangeang Island.
Sangeang Island
Spend the day exploring the reefs, black sand beaches and the small fishing village of Sangeang Island.
Cruise to Wera Village on Sumbawa Island in the afternoon for a visit to see the traditional Boat Building of the Bugis people from South Sulawesi.
Gili Banta/Komodo National Park
From here we have the choice of cruising to Gili Banta or making our way into the legendary Komodo National Park. We will discuss what activities you are most interested in and can decide at that time. Gili Banta is a stunning island completely uninhabited with large bays perfect for all water sports; kayaking, water skiing/wake boarding, snorkeling or diving.

In the morning we can dive or snorkel in the best Komodo has to offer. And later today we will walk with Dragons! The trek on Rinca Island can be as long or short as you wish. The central area of Komodo Island is filled with stunning natural beauty. We will start our day with a dive or snorkel around the famous Pink Beach. During Lunch we will cruise toward Manta Point, where we will search for the most majestic creatures in the sea.
In the afternoon we will cruise to the northern most area of the Komodo National Park for our last night.
North Coast Komodo
Waking up on the north side of Komodo National Park provides a number of possibilities. This area has some of the best conditions for exciting snorkeling or diving between island passages or out in the blue on large sea mounts. There are a couple of options for trekking as well as large open bays for water sports. Depending on the departure time the next day we will slowly cruise back to Labuan Bajo.

Embarkation
Samata will disembark from northeastern Bali near the Padang Bai Harbor. There will be an approximate six-hour cruise to the Gili Islands for diving, swimming and exploring.
In the early evening you will cruise overnight to Moyo Island.
Moyo Island
Samata will arrive at Moyo Island in the morning. Just a little way off the island are a couple of nice reef systems with great diving and snorkeling.
Later in the day you can make a trek to a beautiful waterfall on Moyo island. The boat will anchor overnight in the calm waters of Saleh Bay.
Swim with Whale sharks
In the calm waters of Saleh Bay fisherman have formed a strong bond with these gentle giants. It will be an early start to make sure you have the best opportunity to swim with the whale sharks.
After your time with the whale sharks, there will be a few hour cruise to the Island of Satonda. You can make a short trek inland to see the picturesque volcanic lake, Satonda also has great snorkeling and diving. In the early evening, there will be an overnight cruise to Sangeang Island.
Sangeang Island, Gili Banta
You can spend the morning exploring the reefs and black sand beaches of Sangeang Island.
Later there will be a few hour cruise to Gili Banta, an uninhabited island with stunning bays. This island is known for its clear water and rich sea life. This is a perfect place for all watersports.

Embarkation
You will Arrive in Sorong in the morning where you will be greeted by the cruise director of Samata and taken directly to the ship approximately 15 min away. We will spend the first day cruising through the Dampier straight toward Wofo Island approximately 12 hours away. Along the way, we will keep a lookout for whales and dolphins that are often seen in this area.
Gam Ridge, Citrus Ridge & Passage
We will start today with a check out dive along Gam ridge. One or two more dives throughout the day at ‘Citrus ridge’ and the ’Passage’ along with a cruise or Kayak through the Hidden bay. In the early evening, we will make our cruise toward Wofo Island.
Wofoh and Kawe
We start our day with a visit to the twin islands of Wofoh. Spend time on the beautiful white sand beaches or snorkel the healthy hard coral gardens. From here, we will journey to Eagle Rock, a group of 3 small islands jutting out of rich, deep water. We often spot manta rays here along with the bizarre looking wobbegong shark. Moving further north, we will visit Black Rocks, a large dive site covered in colourful corals and thousands of schooling fish. From here we journey to the “Pearl of Raja Ampat”, Wayag. We will enter this protected lagoon with the afternoon light streaming from behind, a photographic opportunity not to be missed.
If preferred, instead of diving at Eagle Rock and Black Rock, it’s possible to dive in Aljui Bay. This large bay, at the western end of Waigeo, is home to a large pearl farm with a great jetty dive. Diving under the jetty here is dependent upon permission from the Pearl Farm.
Wayag
Wake up to an awe-inspiring view of the stunning karst landscape of Wayag. Start the morning with a dive at an offshore island teeming with life. Break out the paddleboard or kayaks to explore the sheltered lagoon at your own pace.
The afternoon is a great time to hike to the top of Mt Pindito, a vantage point unlike any other. Tour this unique archipelago by tender or enjoy time relaxing on the softest sandy beaches in Indonesia. Enjoy a fresh cocktail on your own private beach as the sun sets over one of the most beautiful islands in Indonesia.
Yeben Islands, Mayhem & Lalosi
Wake up this morning anchored off Yeben Island with good diving, beaches and kayaking.
At lunch time we will cruise toward the dive sites of Mayhem and Lalosi. Both getting their names for the large schools of fish around the massive e open water reefs. In the afternoon we will start the overnight cruise to Misool.

Misool, the most protected area of the most bio diverse sea in the world. With an astounding bio-mas this is truly one of natures special places. We will spend three days in this area and will not come close to exploring all the treasures in the crown of Raja Ampat. Misool has 100’s of dive sites, mysterious caves, jelly fish lakes and beautiful beaches perfect for bbq’s.
We are going to stay here and discover Misool for 3 days.

Penemu
The islands of Penemu offer some of the more unique dive sites in Raja Ampat. Start out the morning with a dive on the “My Reef” pinnacle or a pleasant drift along a coral encrusted channel. Explore the southern tip of Penemu by kayak and discover a hidden bay protected by a beautiful white sand beach. Batu Rufus offers an amazing coral garden and swim through that can be explored by scuba or snorkeling.
The late afternoon is the perfect time to walk to the top of Penemu to enjoy a panoramic view of this magical lagoon.
Dampier Strait
Wake up early for a pre-dawn trek to observe the endemic Red Bird of Paradise. Proper shoes will be needed for the 30-minute hike to a viewpoint above the village of Tapokreng. After breakfast back on the boat, enjoy diving on one of the top sites in Raja Ampat. The Dampier Strait is known for its incredible pinnacle and wall diving. Sites such as Cape Kri and Blue Magic offer the opportunity to encounter large schools of fish and pelagic manta rays.
In the afternoon, explore the mangroves of Gam Island by kayak or visit the beautiful Pasir Timbul sandbank for a unique photo session. (tide dependent)

Embarkation
You will be personally greeted at the airport by our professional staff, who will escort you to your home for the week. After an approximately 20-minute journey from the airport, you will board our tender boat for a short trip to the luxury vessel MV Samata. You will be greeted by the smiling faces of our staff, who will welcome you aboard with a refreshing drink. After a short tour of the boat and facilities, settle in and relax as your dream holiday has begun.
We will be embarking on a short journey to the idyllic Iris Strait, please enjoy the beautiful natural scenery on the way.
The Iris Strait
Wake up to a beautiful morning in the paradise that is the Iris Strait. Surrounded by lush tropical jungle, bird song is the only noise you will hear in this remote location. The sheltered waters of this strait are home to a seemingly endless variety of white sand beaches. Start the day with a paddle to a deserted beach and enjoy the early morning sun. Activities today include snorkeling and diving with the opportunity to enjoy the world famous dive site: “Little Komodo”. This area is renowned for stunning sunsets, the perfect way to end your day aboard Samata.
South West Aiduma
Enjoy a fresh coffee or tea as you watch the sunrise during our short cruise to the southern end of Aiduma. The south west coast of this island is home to dozens of tiny coves that are perfect for exploration. Spend the morning cruising the area by kayak to discover your own private beach. The scuba diving and snorkeling experience at Pulau Aiduma is what makes the area special. The waters surrounding Triton Bay are known as one of the most bio-diverse areas of world. Hundreds of species of fish and coral are abundant along the shallow coral reefs.
The Iris Strait
Wake up at a stunning anchorage in the Iris Strait. Enjoy a dive at coral rich sites such as “GT Rock”, home to brilliant hues of orange soft corals and big schools of fish. Spend the day with a visit to the local village or just relax on the beach in your own private cove.
Tonight you will enjoy a one of a kind treat with a wonderful beach BBQ set up by the Samata crew (weather permitting). Sunset cocktails and a dinner under the stars offer the perfect way to end another incredible day.
Triton Bay
A short morning cruise takes us to Triton Bay itself. This stunning inlet is home to several villages of friendly Papuans who rarely see outsiders. You will gain a glimpse of how these folks go about their daily lives in such a remote area. With the guidance of the locals, we will visit an inland lake after exploring a unique and diverse mangrove system.
Our anchorage for the night is a perfect spot for a night dive for people keen on exploring after dark.
Pulau Namatota
A short morning cruise along the coast brings the Samata to a fjord like strait separating the island of Namatota from the mainland. As the vessel slowly cruises up the channel, keep your eyes peeled for the resident school of dolphins.
The boat will stop close to shore along a steep cliff in order for everyone to glimpse well-preserved “stone age” petroglyphs, which are found along a rocky outcrop. These paintings are dated at between three to five thousand years old and are a highlight of this trip.
Today is a day full of highlights! We will talk with the local fisherman about the presence of the largest fish in the sea, the whaleshark! If conditions permit, you will have the opportunity to spend a few hours snorkeling or diving with these amazing animals. As a special treat, dolphins are often found intermingling with the whalesharks.
Tonight we depart the Triton Bay area on our journey toward the Spice Islands.
Mommon
Wake up to the stunning scenery of Papua to starboard and a beautiful blue sea to port. We will be exploring the Mommon area today; this isolated location sees very few visitors, as there are no villages or towns nearby. Explore hidden inlets and bays with healthy hard corals and a population of shy sea turtles. Listen for the distinctive call of the Papuan hornbill; a large bird often spotted flying above the treetops.
Activities in the area include beachcombing along beautiful sand, snorkeling, and diving. However, the main attraction is a large freshwater waterfall that streams out of the jungle and plunges straight into the sea. Swim into the surprisingly cold water and enjoy a truly unique experience.
Tonight we depart on a journey to South West Ceram.
South West Ceram
Wake up to a view of the idyllic and lush island, Pulau Koon. If you were to design a perfect tropical destination, Pulau Koon would be your inspiration. Healthy hard coral reefs and mind-blowing drop-offs surround this uninhabited paradise.
Explore the island by foot: walk along the powder white sand as a canopy of palm trees provides shade. Discover the reef system by kayak or plunge into the aptly named “Too Many Fish” dive site. For a once in a lifetime experience, visit a local village and enjoy the infectious laughter of the welcoming inhabitants.
Tonight we continue our journey to the west.
Banda Neira
A mystical scent of nutmeg and cinnamon may stir you from your slumber: we have arrived at the enchanting Spice Islands. Once the center of the mythical Spice Islands, Banda Neira is a destination steeped in history. With a skyline dominated by the presence of an active volcano, this island group is the perfect mix of natural and historical attractions.
Start the day with a beautiful dive along the reefs of Pulau Hatta. A visit to the friendly village of this outpost is a great way to experience the daily lives of the people. The next stop is the main harbor of Banda, where the vessel will anchor under the shadow of the volcano. Spend the late morning or early afternoon snorkeling along the incredible coral garden that has sprung from the remains of a volcanic eruption.
The cooler temperatures of the late afternoon is the perfect time to experience the history of the Spice Islands. Our tour guide will escort you on a walk to the town of Banda: visit the Museum, a nutmeg plantation, and the incredible Fort Belgica. The fort is hundreds of years old and offers stunning views over this beautiful harbor town. Spend a peaceful night in the sheltered waters of Banda harbor.
Banda Islands
Your last full day starts with a farewell to Banda Neira, as we cruise toward the island of Ai. Steep walls surround the island, offering incredible diving and snorkeling options. During lunch, we will head to “Run”, renowned as the island that the British exchanged to the Dutch for Manhattan. Spend the afternoon enjoying the sand of a small white beach surrounded by coral. We end the day with a visit to the sleepy village. Walk the narrow streets with a throng of children, who will escort you to a panoramic lookout offering a beautiful view of the Samata, backlit by a gorgeous Banda Sea sunset.
Tonight we journey to our final destination of Ambon.

Arborek/Yangeffo
This morning we start at the wonderful Yangeffo Island, home to a variety of stunning dive sites. “Mayhem”, “Citrus Ridge”, and “The Mangroves” all offer unique marine life experiences. The mangrove areas of Yangeffo Island are a wonderful place to start the day exploring by kayak.
During lunch, we will move the boat a short distance to the island of Arborek. This idyllic island is ringed by white sand and is home to a beautiful Papuan village. Feel free to walk the streets to catch a glimpse of the local way of life. We will dive under the world famous pier to encounter large schools of fish and richly colored soft coral. A night dive here is a great opportunity to encounter the very vocal “toad fish”.
Wofoh and Kawe
We start our day with a visit to the twin islands of Wofoh. Spend time on the beautiful white sand beaches or snorkel the healthy hard coral gardens. From here, we will journey to Eagle Rock, a group of 3 small islands jutting out of rich, deep water. We often spot manta rays here along with the bizarre looking wobbegong shark.
Moving further north, we will visit Black Rocks, a large dive site covered in colorful corals and thousands of schooling fish. From here we journey to the “Pearl of Raja Ampat”, Wayag. We will enter this protected lagoon with the afternoon light streaming from behind, a photographic opportunity not to be missed.
Wayag
Wake up to an awe-inspiring view of the stunning karst landscape of Wayag. Start the morning with a dive at an offshore island teeming with life. Break out the paddleboard or kayaks to explore the sheltered lagoon at your own pace.
The afternoon is a great time to hike to the top of Mt Pindito, a vantage point unlike any other. Tour this unique archipelago by tender or enjoy time relaxing on the softest sandy beaches in Indonesia. Enjoy a fresh cocktail on your own private beach as the sun sets over one of the most beautiful islands in Indonesia. In the evening we will make the cruise south toward Yeben island.
Yeben and Penemu Islands
Wake up this morning anchored off Yeben Island with good diving, beaches and kayaking.
At lunch time we will cruise toward the dive sites of Mayhem and Lalosi. Both getting their names for the large schools of fish around the massive open water reefs. The islands of Yeben and Penemu offer some of the more unique dive sites in Raja Ampat.
Yeben and Penemu Islands
This morning is the perfect time to walk to the top of Penemu to enjoy a panoramic view of this magical lagoon. Explore the southern tip of
Penemu by kayak and discover a hidden bay protected by a beautiful white sand beach. Batu Rufus offers an amazing coral garden and swim through that can be explored by scuba or snorkeling.
In the afternoon we will start our overnight cruise to Pulau Kafiau southern Raja Ampat around the Misool area.
Pulau Kofiau
Wake up to the stunning scenery of Pulau Kofiau to starboard and a beautiful blue sea to port. The least visited area of Raja Ampat with stunning palm tree lined beaches. Explore hidden inlets and bays with healthy hard corals and a population of shy sea turtles. This stunning island chain is home to several villages of friendly Papuans who rarely see outsiders.
In the afternoon we will continue south for another overnight cruise to the crown jewel of Raja Ampat; Misool.
