The La Jangada- which means The Raft in Portuguese - is a new ship in the Brazilian Amazon and one build for exploration.
Cruising for exploration, aboard the M/S jangada, a steel catamaran twenty-nine meters long and ten meters wide, a newbuilding delivered in January 19, offering twelve cabins of great comfort and high level quality services for a unique experience on the rivers amazon and rio negro, in the heart of an untamed amazon. Twelves or thirteen days (other cruise durations possible on demand of charterer) of pure emotion on the largest watershed in the world to meet native populations, breathtaking landscapes, flora and fauna of unparalleled richness. An unseen navigation in a wild territory where nature is queen, the amazon rain forest.
Jules Verne will be mentioned, this great visionary whose book "Jangada" tells an adventure taking place in the Amazon between Iquitos and Belém on a giant raft made of tree trunks attached to each other whose name was "Jangada". This story inspired us to christen this new ship.
It's not just a cruise to which we invite you to participate but a total immersion in an unknown world where nature is powerful and beautiful, where myths and legends are many helping men overcome their fears, a initiatory journey in the heart of a magical forest, still wild, endangered where intertwine unique fauna and flora in the world, a discovery of the traditions, culture and hospitality of local populations, indigenous and "cabocles" alive on the borders of the largest river in the world, the Amazon, always confronted with the forces of nature, part of it with wisdom, determination and even fatality.
You will leave after those days spent aboard the Jangada with another look at yourself, on planet Earth, on our duty to help protect the indigenous and mestizo populations, the "water people”, the forest and wildlife and the rivers. An exploration cruise to question also the meaning of life, to wonder about the fragility of the beauty of the world and what we want to bequeath to future generations.
