To enter Myanmar, you will need to apply for a travelers’ visa before entering the country. You will also need a valid passport with at least six months remaining before the expiration date and at least one blank page to allow for a visitors’ stamp.

Note that the rainy season starts earlier in Yangon than the country’s more northerly destinations, so if you aren’t afraid of the high temperatures in April and May, these months can still be a great time to travel to Bagan and Mandalay.
