If that wasn't enough, we've also added an all-inclusive Amazon River cruise for you to explore the magical wildlife-filled realm of the Brazilian Amazon. What more could you want from a Rio Carnival 2020 Package?
You won't find another itinerary like this. The first part of your Rio Carnival 2020 Package, takes you to Manaus, the gateway to Brazilian Amazon, and a 5D/4N cruise on the region's most luxurious riverboat, the Iberostar Grand Amazon. Specializing in unforgettable all-inclusive journeys, the vessel features first-rate cabins with private balconies and facilities to rival some of the best ocean-going cruise ships, the choice of two restaurants, a convenience store, two swimming pools, a Jacuzzi, disco, massage room and gym to name but a few. Did we mention all your food and drinks on board are included? But being on board isn't the highlight. With the help of expert naturalist guides you will be exploring one of the most remarkable and remote wildernesses on Earth in search of the indigenous tribes and exotic flora and fauna that call this magical place their home.
After your cruise it's time to head to the Marvelous City and an incredible 5D/4N Rio Carnival Package awaits. With a hotel right in the heart of Rio’s colourful bohemian centre as a base, you'll be ideally located with all of Carnival’s major events and parties taking place around you. Samba clubs, theatres, capoeira halls, old historical houses converted into trendy antique stores, funky bars, restaurants, cafes and of course the famous Lapa Arches, are all just 10 minutes walk away.
The atmosphere will be electric and the caipirinhas flowing as you get the party started even on your first night, with a Welcome Cocktail Party, face painting and group samba class to put you in good stead for the dancing and partying to come. One night you'll even board our very own magnificent private schooner for a sunset party cruise, spending 3-4 hours cruising around Rio’s spectacular Guanabara Bay. On board there'll be bathrooms, music, a dance-floor, chill-out area, nibbles and even an open bar for the first hour! As we return just after sunset, we’ll have the opportunity to view the city in yet another light and from yet another angle… with fantastic views of Sugar Loaf and Christ The Redeemer, both possible to visit on optional half-day City Tours. On your first night you will also have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to wear a Carnival costume and dance with a samba school in the Sambadrome! Please note these activities are not included in your tour price and must be purchased in advance at the time of booking.
The days and nights may blur into an array of colors as you revel in the festivities with the help of your knowledgeable local tour guides, as they escort you to all the best blocos (street parties) the city has to offer, culminating in the main event of the week, Sunday night's Special Group Parade at the Sambadrome. On Special Group parade nights the Sambadrome is full to the brim with spirited fans singing the anthems and cheering along their favorite samba schools. These nights of Rio Carnival showcase the most prestigious Samba Schools, spectacularly ornate floats, exquisitely elaborate costumes and dazzling performances of song, rhythm and dance. Good job we got you tickets to some of the best seats in the house!
Your included Sambadrome ticket will be in sector 12 or 13, right at the finale of the Parade, where the energy kicks into full gear as the parading members of Rio’s most elite Samba Schools try their best to make the most of the remaining moments in the spotlight. If you're lucky, from this position you may also be able salvage some of the abandoned costumes that paraders take off in the Apotheosis Square to wear them for amazing photo opportunities or at parties later that evening!
