8D/7N – Marie River "Rio de Gigantes" Fly Fishing

 Untamed Amazon Itinerary Map

This 8-Day, 7-Night Amazon cruise itinerary is specially designed for sport fly fishing. No groups will ever fish the same water on the same day. The concept is to move every day and every week upstream or downstream following the best fishing, so everyone is constantly casting at fresh fish, in near virgin waters.

Day 1

Arrive in Manaus. Transfer from the airport to the Hotel. Overnight accommodations at the Hotel Tropical in Manaus, the night before departure to the yacht, are included in the package. The group will receive all information regarding the next day’s plan for time of departure, typically very early weather depending.

 

Day 2

Breakfast at Hotel. 

The host will pick up the group at approximately 7:00 a.m. and head to the local airport, to board the two amphibious Cessna Caravans charter flight to end destination. The charter flight duration is approximately 3:30hs depending the Untamed Amazon ship location in Rio Marié. Arrive at Rio Marié right where the yacht will be anchored and waiting for the group. There you will meet the fishing team and staff, and after cold beer and lunch anglers will have a brief explanation of the daily fishing plans and the yacht’s amenities. Get situated in your suite and for appetizers and relax to be prepared for your fishing week.

 

Day 3

Each day individual teams (2 anglers) will head out for the day and fish one of the beats in the Rio Marie’, its tributaries and or lagoons. Each two anglers will share a fly fishing guide along with a local native guide in specifically designed fly fishing boats with two large casting platforms. Both anglers are constantly fishing, all day long from these perfectly designed boats.

Typical Day:

6:00am - Coffee is hot

7:00am - Breakfast

8:00am - Head to fishing grounds

12pm to 1pm - Anglers will have a picnic style lunch on the river. 

1:00pm - After lunch, fishing will resume until late afternoon when the guides will deliver anglers back to the yacht around 6pm. Every day the yacht will be moved, and anchored in a different place.

6:30pm - Cocktails and appetizers on the covered patio top deck.

8:00 pm - Dinners will be served inside the yacht’s air conditioned dining room area.

Day 7

In the morning, guests will be transferred by boat to the landing strip to fly back to Manaus at approximately 11:00am, weather permitting. 

On the return flight we will stop in a small town to refuel and then continue on to Manaus. You will arrive in Manaus in the afternoon, at approximately 3:00pm (assuming no flight delays). Most anglers will be departing on the late night flight that evening, departing Manaus for Miami at 12:05am on Thurs morning. Your staff driver will deliver you to the International Airport after a nice Brazilian BBQ dinner or to the Tropical for a quick shower if you choose to rent a day room. 

If you do not feel like taking the red eye out of Manaus that night, another night’s stay at the Tropical (or another hotel) can be arranged; this would not be included in the package, and we will need to know as far in advance as possible if you will need this extra hotel night. Should this be the case, the transfer driver will pick you up the following day, according to your flight departure time, and deliver you to the International Airport.

 

Day 8

If you do end up spending the night in Manaus, the next morning, after breakfast and according to your flight departure time, our host will pick you and transfer to International Airport.

Extra Night or Day Use Rooms: If you would like an extra night accommodations in Manaus at the Hotel Tropical on arrival or departure or would like a day room on your departure day, please let us know. All extra nights and day use bookings will be paid direct to the hotel.
 

4D/N – Tukano Itinerary

 Untamed Amazon 4-Day Itinerary

This 4-Day, 3-Night Amazon tour is a popular itinerary for those who are short on time. Cruise to the Anavilhanas Archipelago and the iconic "meeting of the waters." Visit a local village to learn about traditional customs and culture and always be on the lookout for typical Amazonian wildlife such as river dolphins, piranha, black caiman, arapaima fish and more. This itinerary covers the best of the Brazilian Amazon jungle.

Day 1

Pick up 07:30am in your hotel in Manaus, transfer to the Tropical Hotel Pier to check in at 08:30am on the boat for accommodation of the passengers, welcome drinks and appetizers on board. 

Begin navigation on the Rio Negro, passing in front of the city of Manaus to observe the old buildings of the historical center (municipal market, port of Manaus, etc.), dating back to the golden era of rubber (1880 to 1920). Navigation until the Meeting of the Waters of the rivers Negro (black water) and Solimões (White Water). After that we head to visit the Ecological Park of Janauary. 

Lunch time. Ride in canoes through the igapós to observe the famous victory-regia and the sunset. Return to the boat.

Appetizers. Dinner on board with gourmet menu of Amazonian fish and night on board. Navigation to the Rio Negro.

 

Day 2

Breakfast. 

Visit the Seringal Museum to learn more about the great rubber season. 

Lunch on board. 

Arrival at Tupé Beach to and guided activities and swim in the Negro river. 

Departure by motorized boat to visit a typical Indian village and attend a presentation of the Dessana Indians. 

Snacks and early dinner on board. Departure for a guided night tour with boat to observation of nocturnal wildlife, possibility to see the caimans that are predominant in the Rio Negro region and the sounds of the jungle. 

Return to the boat. Night navigation to Novo Airão.

 

Day 3

Breakfast on board. 

Visit the city of Novo Airão to observe the amazing pink dolphins and Anavilhanas Archipelago. 

Lunch on board. Free time and swimming in Negro River beaches and areas. 

Optional: Classes of SUP and canoeing – possibility enjoy these activities in the Rio Negro, always assisted by guides. Visit to the Almerinda Malachias Foundation, where you will learn about the caboclo handicraft. Return to the boat. Luau and dinner on the beach (weather dependant). 

Night navigation to Lake Acajatuba.

 

Day 4

Breakfast on board in the area. 

Return navigation to Manaus with Arrival scheduled for 12hs. Groups Arrival at Tropical Pier and transfer to the hotel or transfer to the airport.

This 6-Day, 5-Night Amazon cruise itinerary covers the best of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. Cruise to the iconic "meeting of the waters" to observe the natural phenomenon of the Rio Negro meeting with the Rio Solimoes. Cruise to the Central Amazon Conservation Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site to look for Amazonian wildlife such as river dolphins, piranha, black caiman, arapaima fish and more.

Day 5

Breakfast on board. 

Departure to visit a house of caboclo (local population) in the region of Lake Janauaca to know their way of life, customs and the cultures of the local population (medicinal plants). Lunch on board. 

Boat trip in the Manaquiri region (observation of local fauna and flora) or piranha fishing in the Manaquiri region. Boat trips to observe the nocturnal wildlife and listen to the sounds of the Manaquiri region.

Dinner on board.

 

Day 6

Breakfast onboard. Return to Manaus. Groups Arrival at Tropical Pier and transfer to the hotel or transfer to the airport.
