By far my favorite place. It's one of the most versatile, most alive places that I've ever felt in my life. There's nothing that you can't find there. It feels like a whole universe in itself in one place. You can see wildlife, jungle, water, beaches, surfing, hiking - almost any ecosystem you can imagine exists there. All thriving with incredible energy.

Swimming With Sea Lions

If you told me when I was very little, and obsessed with my wildlife encyclopedia, that I would be swimming with sea lions, I would have sobbed with excitement. I didn't know how to swim back then either. Go figure.

Three Ships I Love

I love the Zafiro because it was the first cruise I experienced in the Amazon, and the boat is incredible. It is the blueprint for me, for the standard I expect in terms of quality, care and collaboration with the rainforest. The Aria was a special second visit – it is pure luxury, a really premium, attention to detailed experience. I’m a huge foodie and I would say the food on these ships is the best in the Amazon, curated by a very notable Peruvian chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. And finally, The Theory was my childhood dream come true in the Galapagos. I found the naturalist guides to be the most enthusiastic I have ever come across, and it felt like the islands could feel that too. I will never forget eagerly awaiting each new destination, spotting the islands from the day beds on the sun deck with a drink in hand (open bar by the way). Hey, Relais & Chateaux don’t give the accolade to just anyone.

I'm going to Panama soon, which I'm super excited about, and I've been trying to push Costa Rica for ages. Sri Lanka is also very high on my personal list. They're all quite varied, but there's something about these culturally rich places that just calls to me.
