It started early. A trip to Peru and Bolivia when I was five, wandering riverbanks with my grandfather while he sketched locals, hearing parrots overhead, catching piranha. Growing up around exotic animals, living in Panama, traveling through places that were completely one hundred and eighty degrees from anything familiar. It all added up to one conclusion: there is so much out there that most people never get to see, and I wanted to find a way to change that.

Rainforest Cruises exists because I believe that taking someone to a remote corner of the Amazon, the Galápagos, or a village on the Mekong, changes the way they see the world. Not through a lecture, but through the moment they decide to create for themselves. The frog they notice. The conversation with a local guide. The species they didn’t know existed until they were standing right in front of it. That’s what we’re really selling.

I’m based in Miami now, though Latin America never really left my system. Our team is here to help you figure out which destination, which season, and which experience is the right fit for you.

One Tip I Always Share

You have to go with the flow, especially on boats and especially in places that are far removed.

My Wild Refuge

The Amazon
The Amazon. It always comes back to the Amazon. It imprinted on me when I was five years old, wandering riverbanks with my grandfather while he sketched, and hearing parrots overhead. That's the thing about the Amazon, you think you're going there to see it, but it has its own ideas about what it wants to show you. No two trips are the same.

An Encounter I'll Never Forget

A Lesson In Conservation
I was about twenty-two, volunteering informally with the Smithsonian in Panama, cataloguing poison arrow frogs, a personal obsession. I found a color variation that wasn't in any database: slightly off-green with copper tones. I thought I'd made this tiny contribution to science. A few weeks later, I went back to show the researchers where I'd found it. The entire area, primary forest, had been cleared and burned for a teak plantation. Hundreds, maybe thousands of hectares, gone. I don't know what else was in that forest. Nobody does. That moment is part of why I do what I do now.

On My Horizon

Africa
Africa. It's been in the back of my mind for a while. We're built around small ships and remote waterways, so it would be a reach in some ways, but the more I think about a third project, it feels like the natural next chapter. We'll see what shape it takes.

Don't Forget To...

Ask An Artisan
People often don't realize how dramatically the experience changes between high water and low water in the Amazon. What's inaccessible in one season opens up in another, and vice versa. Our sales team can help you figure out which combination of destination, season, and activities actually matches what you're looking for, not just what looks good in a brochure.
