I have worked as a destination specialist at Rainforest Cruises since 2019, and I specialize in all destinations across South America, from the Galapagos Islands to the Amazon, all the way down to Patagonia.

These destinations offer transformative experiences. In the Amazon, I was able to connect with local communities who have lived in harmony with the environment for centuries. And in the Galapagos, you come close to the wildlife that inspired Darwin’s theory of evolution.

One Tip I Always Share

No matter which destination you choose, bring binoculars!—that’s the only way to see all the different species up close, because you get really close but not zoo-close.

My Wild Refuge

Because of its uniqueness both in terms of scenery and wildlife. My favorite landscape is found at Fernandina Island, specifically the area with volcanic lava soil where we were able to hike and explore. You can even feel the hot temperature of the soil when you walk on them which was a breathtaking experience. I also enjoyed the clear views of the stars at night which is only possible to see from remote and dark areas without artificial lights like Galapagos.

Three Ships I Love

I highly recommend the Tucano as it navigates deeper into the Brazilian Amazon than most, and another plus is that it starts very early on the day of departure which maximizes your time for exploration. The guides are also excellent. In the Galapagos the Endemic is a fantastic option because all suites have balconies and the quality of service and meals is incredible. In Peru, for those seeking exclusivity, the Delfin I Amazon Cruise is amazing as it only has four suites in total, and offers highly personalized service. An added bonus is they also include the use of binoculars for their guests.
