The 46-metre-long Alila Purnama, with its 16-strong crew including a spa therapist, a private chef, leisure concierge and a dive guide, consists of three decks and has been built by hand in the traditional style of a Phinisi, as used by the Bugis seafarers from south Sulawesi in Indonesia. In keeping with Alila’s emphasis on style and sustainability, the furniture throughout the boat is custom-made from teak, rattan and other locally sourced materials from Indonesia, integrating the natural, physical, and cultural elements of its environment for an immersive voyage like no other.

Life On Board

The five well-appointed luxury suites—including one indulgent master suite—are all air-conditioned with queen-size beds, en-suite bathrooms with shower, separate toilet, double wardrobes and writing desk. The Sriwijaya Master Suite is expansively designed with large, wraparound windows offering 180-degree views of the ever-changing landscape, and boasts a bathroom with bathtub and double vanity, as well as a private balcony and large sundeck with daybed and deckchairs.

Elsewhere there’s an air-conditioned library with TV and computer, the Majapahit Saloon—an air conditioned indoor bar lounge-cum-dining area with seating for up to 10 people— and plenty of space outside on the outdoor deck to unwind and enjoy the views from the oversized day beds shaded by umbrellas—perfect for relaxing day or night and enjoying the fresh sea breezes. And with a spa therapist aboard the vessel, guests can succumb to the soothing pleasures of a signature Alila massage onboard or on a nearby private beach.

Guests can dine at their leisure in the aforementioned air-conditioned dining room or on the outdoor deck, where there’s even an onboard barbecue. Meals and an extensive list of non-alcoholic beverages are all-inclusive while alcoholic beverages including wines, beers and cocktails are available for an additional charge.

There’s also complimentary WiFi access on board, enabling guests to upload their trip photos on a daily basis, but this is subject to availability, depending upon the satellite connectivity and technical conditions.
