AM & PM: Dive around Nyata island in search of hammerhead sharks and rays. Since Romang and Nyata are not part of a National Park, there are opportunities to go fishing here as well. Cruise south towards Telang for snorkeling and kayaking adventures, with a chance to spot rare silver-tip sharks.​

AM & PM: A tiny atoll located in the Banda Sea, Nil Desperandum is blessed with incredible hard coral formations. Spend a full day here, diving and snorkeling near the impressive coral and sponge formations. Revel in the experience as shoals of big fish such as tuna and Spanish mackerel swim by without worry.

AM & PM: Serua is a playground for both snorkelers and divers. The island showcases an impressive array of reefs, walls, and beautiful soft coral spots. Schools of fish thrive in the area, and there is also a possibility of spotting hammerhead sharks.​

AM & PM: Head out in the afternoon for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with whale sharks in crystal-clear waters that make up Triton Bay. This region features sublime dive sites, home to a wealth of rare marine life and reefs decorated with some of the finest soft corals in the world. Over on land, the scenery consists of forest-covered limestone cliffs and prehistoric artwork high up on the rocky walls.​

AM & PM: Spend the day exploring the luxurious Aqua Blu and enjoy its variety of social spaces – a jacuzzi, spa and exercise area, sky lounge bar, and a sun deck offering panoramic views of the vast seas. Gain a deeper insight into Indonesian culture through onboard cooking demonstrations and presentations from our expert guides.

AM: Arrive in the uncharted Asmat region – a remote part of West Papua which very few have ever had the opportunity to visit. On board private speedboats, head down the Lorentz River deep into the jungle to visit the village of Yuan Yufri. Enjoy a friendly welcome as the tribal members pass by in their handcrafted canoes.

PM: Spend the afternoon interacting with the locals, viewing their art, and learning about their daily lives. End the day with sundowners as we sail to Biwar Laut.

AM: Today, we continue our exploration of the Asmat region and gain a deeper insight into the traditions of the locals. Enjoy a scenic skiff ride to the village of Biwar Laut, escorted by tribal members in their canoes. Upon arrival, witness the traditional Spirit Mask ceremony, which is conducted by the Asmat people to honor their ancestors.

PM: After lunch on Aqua Blu, head over to the nearby village of Ouws to witness the Mbis Pole Ceremony which depicts how, after death, a soul manifests as a spirit in the image of a bird. ​

AM: Enjoy a relaxing morning at sea before we arrive at the shores of the Aru Islands. Take the plunge and go on a snorkeling and diving excursion in the island’s sparkling waters.

PM: Afterwards, unwind on the island’s tranquil beach, drinks in hand, as you take in the breathtaking sunset.​

AM & PM: Travel by air from Jakarta to Ambon on the recommended flight (if you are not purchasing the recommended group flight, please get in touch to confirm your arrangements).Transfers to the airport and luggage assistance will be provided. Board the elegant Aqua Blu, settle into your cabin and meet your fellow explorers at a welcome reception and dinner as the ship sets sail.

AM & PM: Spend the day relaxing on board where luxurious amenities await. AM: Spend the next several days discovering Raja Ampat, part of the Coral Triangle and home to one of the planet’s richest marine ecosystems. Arrive in Misool, the second largest island in Raja Ampat. In the Wayil Islands, discover breathtaking karst limestone peaks and hidden lagoons. Set out on kayaks or snorkel and dive in turquoise waters alive with sea fans, blue fusiliers, manta rays and trevallies.

PM: On Yillet island—or “pulau” in Indonesian—uncover soft coral reefs teeming with reef sharks, parrotfish, moray eels and colorful nudibranchs. Keep an eye out for cockatoos as you make your way to shore. Cap the day on a secluded beach relaxing or snorkeling close to shore before sunset cocktails. 

AM & PM: Visit Misool’s magnificent One Thousand Temples karst island and lagoon complex, where you’ll see ancient rock art estimated to be about 15,000 years old. Those up for an arduous climb will get the chance to swim in stingless jellyfish lakes. Living without predators, these moon, golden medusa and Cassiopeia jellyfish have developed stingless bodies. Traverse dramatic karst seascapes by Zodiac and delve into Tomolol Cave, a mesmerizing subterranean river system. Beneath the surface, snorkeling and diving reveal a kaleidoscope of marine life, from pygmy seahorses to barracudas and colorful gobies. 

AM & PM: Discover Daram, the easternmost island of Misool and the most remote part of the Misool Marine Reserve. It’s known for its exceptional marine lifeand is home to hawksbill and green turtles that nest on untouched beaches. Discover vast underwater landscapes, encountering lionfish, Christmas tree worms, clownfish and more–a haven for underwater photography enthusiasts. 

AM & PM: Step ashore on the uninhabited and privately owned forested island of Sabuda, a sanctuary of natural beauty that rises nearly 150 meters above sea level and is surrounded by a vibrant coral reef. Stroll along one of the island’s charming beaches or hidden coves and snorkel or kayak in tranquil, turquoise waters. 

AM & PM: Sebakor bay—or “teluk” in Indonesian—boasts stunning coastlines shaped by karst rock formations and narrow inlets. A mesmerizing network of shallow reefs and waterways, bordered by vast mangroves and rivers that wind deep into the Papuan mainland, make this area ideal for kayaking and Zodiac cruising. The crown jewels of Sebakor, though, are its offshore seamounts boasting vibrant reefs and abundant marine life. You’ll also explore a bat cave nestled in a natural rocky cathedral along the shoreline. Drift through crystal-blue waters on a Zodiac to spot the colony of bats clinging to the walls and ceilings. 

AM & PM: Arrive at the tropical haven of Momon, located on West Papua’s Bomberai Peninsula. Marvel at Kiti Kiti waterfall which cascades directly into the sea and swim to its plunge pool for an invigorating natural shower. Snorkel or kayak along the jungle-fringed coastline, keeping an eye out for hornbills and forest kangaroos.  

AM & PM: Discover Koon, a tiny but beautiful island in the Banda Sea. Here, you’ll snorkel or dive in the underwater realm of “Too Many Fish,” an area known for possible sightings of reef sharks, leopard sharks and hammerheads. Explore Gorong Island’s shallow reefs and dramatic drop-offs, accessed via a narrow waterway—a paradise for marine enthusiasts.

AM & PM: Begin your day with a sunrise breakfast aboard Aqua Blu, set against the dramatic silhouette of Pulau Manuk’s towering cliffs—a volcanic island that rises three kilometers from the ocean floor. Uninhabited by humans, this isle provides a haven for nature’s predators: fish-eating birds dive with precision into its pristine waters, and sea snakes and reef sharks gather at its underwater thermal springs. Be on the lookout for frigatebirds, gannets and other seabirds that nest in Manuk’s verdant treetops. AM: Rise in the morning to birdsong for an early tender tour of Kabui Bay’s magnificent karsts. Afterwards, enjoy breakfast while cruising to Cape Kri. Snorkel or dive at a site which holds the world record for most species spotted in a single 90-minute dive.

PM: Over at Yangeffo Island, go on an exhilarating afternoon dive excursion at Mayhem reef or enjoy a sunset cocktail tender tour of the mangroves. Dine underneath the stars once you’re back onboard.​​

AM: We’ll have an early departure to Aljui Bay, followed by an eye-opening visit to a pearl farm.

PM: Next, it’s off to Wofoh Island for diving, snorkeling, and water sports in the afternoon. Lay back and enjoy Aqua Blu’s Beach Club on a private beach, sipping on bespoke cocktails and frolicking family fun as the sun sets.

AM & PM: Rise before the sun to embark on a spectacular nature excursion to hike to spot the rare birds of paradise on the island of Waigeo. After breakfast enjoy a relaxed snorkel excursion at Friwinbonda Island. In the afternoon test your sense of adventure heading inland on a local canoe before a refreshing swim down the shimmering blue Kali Biru river. Departing for Sorong for your last night.

PM: Over at Yangeffo Island, go on an exhilarating afternoon dive excursion at Mayhem reef or enjoy a sunset cocktail tender tour of the mangroves. Dine underneath the stars once you’re back onboard.​​

AM: We’ll have an early departure to Aljui Bay, followed by an eye-opening visit to a pearl farm. Next, it’s off to Wofoh Island for diving, snorkeling, and water sports in the afternoon.

PM: Lay back and enjoy Aqua Blu’s Beach Club on a private beach, sipping on bespoke cocktails and frolicking family fun as the sun sets.

In the afternoon, set out in search of manta rays near the charming island village of Arborek.

PM: In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through the village, immersing yourself in the daily rhythms of island life.​

AM & PM: Rise before the sun to embark on a spectacular nature excursion to hike to spot the rare birds of paradise on the island of Waigeo. After breakfast enjoy a relaxed snorkel excursion at Friwinbonda Island. In the afternoon test your sense of adventure heading inland on a local canoe before a refreshing swim down the shimmering blue Kali Biru river. Departing for Sorong for your last night.

AM: Enjoy a healthy breakfast onboard in Sorong before your outbound flight.

AM & PM: Arrive in Bali, one of the cultural hubs of Indonesia, and transfer to the Hilton Bali Resort (or similar). Enjoy the hotel facilities and restaurants before your adventure.  

AM: Travel by air from Bali to Labuan Bajo on our recommended flight (if you are not purchasing the recommended flight, please get in touch to confirm your arrangements), transfers to the airport and luggage assistance will be provided.

PM: Embark Aqua Blu in the afternoon and settle into your cabin before a welcome reception and dinner on board. 

AM: Enjoy breakfast with views of Komodo Bay’s contrasting landscapes: dramatic peaks set against turquoise waters. Venture into Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in search of the legendary Komodo dragon, the world’s largest living lizard. Embark on a hike accompanied by experienced park rangers to observe these ancient creatures in their natural habitat and gain insights into ongoing conservation initiatives. PM: In the afternoon, set sail for Taka Bonerate National Park. Along the way, attend engaging talks with onboard experts, delving into the extraordinary wildlife, ecosystems and geology that will shape your journey.

AM & PM: Taka Bonerate—loosely translated from the Bugis language as “coral piled on sand”—is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and national park that is home to the third largest atoll in the world. Immerse yourself in a day of exploration beneath crystal-clear waters in an untouched realm teeming with life. Start the morning with a swim or set out on a kayak excursion. As you snorkel and dive, you may encounter playful dolphins, intricate gorgonian fans, black corals and an array of other marine creatures, including tuna, napoleon wrasse, scorpionfish and more. 

AM & PM: Spend the morning enjoying the amenities aboard Aqua Blu, unwinding with a book, savoring a quiet moment by the sea or refining your photography skills with guidance from your National Geographic certified photo instructor. Arrive at Watublapi village, renowned for producing some of the world’s most exquisite ikat weavings. Watch as master weavers continue the time-honored tradition of crafting designs using handspun cotton yarn and vibrant natural dyes derived from local plants. During your visit, you’ll also experience a traditional dance performance that captures the spirit of their culture. 

AM: The morning calls for snorkel and dive excursions in the dazzling waters of Pantar Strait Marine Park, one of Indonesia’s most stunning aquatic areas thanks to the confluence of cold currents from Australia and warm Indonesian seas that foster an abundance of marine life.

PM: This afternoon, step ashore on Alor Island into the rich cultural tapestry of the Abui tribe. Experience their centuries-old traditions firsthand as the community welcomes you with their lego-lego dance, a rhythmic expression of unity and heritage. You’ll also watch a demonstration of their bow-and-arrow skills, offering a glimpse into their ancestral way of life that continues to thrive in this remote corner of the world. 

AM & PM: The rugged, untouched coastline of Wetar island beckons with a wealth of hidden treasures, waiting to be discovered. Beneath the surface, impressive wall dives reveal a thriving underwater world where you may encounter graceful sharks gliding through the depths, schools of shimmering pelagic fish and vivid cup corals. Whether you’re diving or snorkeling, keep your eyes peeled for majestic manta and mobula rays, a highlight of this remote and rarely explored marine paradise. 

AM & PM: Nestled within the fabled ”Wallacea” region, the Barat Daya islands are an archipelago—or “kepulauan” in Indonesian— isolated by deep oceanic straits from the Australian and Asian continental shelves. Plunge into the crystalline waters surrounding Pulau Nyata, where elusive hammerhead sharks and graceful rays glide through vibrant coral reefs. Continue south to Telang for more thrilling snorkeling and kayaking adventures, keeping an eye out for the rare silver-tip shark. 

AM & PM: Nil Desperandum—meaning “do not despair” in Latin—is a small, secluded atoll in the Banda Sea known for its hard coral formations and deep drop offs. Spend the day diving or snorkeling among thriving coral and sponge gardens whose highlight includes a vibrant tapestry of brain and staghorn corals perfect for underwater photography enthusiasts. In these clear waters, you’ll also be captivated by schools of formidable fish, including tuna and Spanish mackerel.

AM & PM: Serua, like many destinations on this voyage, lies within Indonesia’s remote ”Forgotten Islands,” a scattered chain stretching hundreds of miles from Timor to Papua. Formed by millennia of volcanic eruptions, Serua is a towering stratovolcano that rises thousands of feet above the Banda Sea floor. Set out on an early morning kayaking excursion, then snorkel and dive to discover stunning reefs, dramatic walls and soft coral gardens. Marvel at schools of fish swiftly darting among the corals and watch for the hammerhead sharks known to congregate in larger numbers here. This afternoon, head out on a steep hike to visit a local village, immersing yourself in the culture and traditions of the people who call this volcanic island home. 

AM & PM: Begin your day with a sunrise breakfast aboard Aqua Blu, set against the dramatic silhouette of Pulau Manuk’s towering cliffs—a volcanic island that rises three kilometers from the ocean floor. Uninhabited by humans, this isle provides a haven for nature’s predators: fish-eating birds dive with precision into its pristine waters, and sea snakes and reef sharks gather at its underwater thermal springs. Be on the lookout for frigatebirds, gannets and other seabirds that nest in Manuk’s verdant treetops. Enjoy swimming or kayaking in the ocean before taking part in a cooking demonstration aboard the ship. 

AM: Arrive at the Banda Islands at sunrise, welcomed by traditional Kora-Kora war canoes gliding through the harbor. Step ashore on Banda Neira, once the world’s most fiercely contested island between the British and Dutch during the spice trade of the 16th and 17th centuries. Wander through the remnants of history at Dutch Fort Nassau, a military stronghold that now symbolizes the island’s tumultuous past as the global epicenter of nutmeg production—a prized and lucrative spice traded across Europe and Asia. Spend the morning walking through its ancient passageways that tell of a complex bygone era.

PM: After lunch, don your snorkel or dive gear and explore the marine life of this storied archipelago. Later on, toast the day with a sundowner and panoramic views of Banda Neira at Fort Belgica. 

AM: At Pulau Ai, one of the westernmost gems of the Banda Islands, immerse yourself in crystalline waters as you swim, snorkel or dive among coral gardens full of reef fish. Afterward, step ashore for a guided tour of Ai where you’ll learn about the island’s storied past and visit its historic nutmeg storehouses, once vital to the lucrative spice trade. Be sure to keep your camera handy as you explore with your National Geographic certified photo instructor by your side.

PM: This afternoon, journey to the shores of Pulau Run, an idyllic island that was a center for nutmeg trade in the 17th century and was famously traded for Manhattan in 1667 by the British and Dutch. In the evening, enjoy a cocktail party on these historic sands, watching the sun sink gracefully into the sea. 

AM & PM: Begin your day with an early morning swim in tranquil ocean waters, followed by snorkeling, diving or kayaking excursions. On the northern shores of Nusa Laut, explore the picturesque fishing villages of Ameth and Akon, where time seems to slow amidst the island’s serene beauty. With luck, you’ll spot the elusive dugong, the Southeast Asian cousin of the gentle American manatee, in its natural environment. As your journey continues toward Ambon, take part in a cooking lesson that brings the flavors of the Spice Islands to life. Enhance your day with insightful onboard presentations from your naturalist guides, deepening your connection to the landscapes, cultures and wildlife you’ve encountered along the way. 

AM: Disembark in Ambon after breakfast and transfer to the airport to fly to Bali on our recommended f light (if you are not purchasing the recommended group flight, please get in touch to confirm your arrangements). Transfers to the airport and luggage assistance will be provided. Upon arrival, connect to your flight home.  

PM: Arrive at Sorong to a warm welcome. There will be a private transfer to Aston Sorong Hotel to rest and relax before embarkation at noon. Board Aqua Blu and cruise to Mioskon Island, while enjoying the world-class cuisine for dinner.

AM: Awake to the beauty of Mioskon Island, and head out for a relaxing snorkel and dive excursion.

PM: In the afternoon, venture into the heart of the jungle on board our private tenders, then enjoy a canoe ride up-river through Kali Biru’s mystical blue waters. Cool off and swim downstream past the jungle canopy.​

AM: Wake up to the magnificent Thousand Temples karst island and lagoon complex. In the morning, we explore mysterious jellyfish lakes and karst island seascapes, witnessing ancient rock art before touring the magnificent caverns of Tomolol Cave.

PM: After lunch, we head out to Yillet – an island featuring some of the world’s most iconic diving and snorkeling sites, before returning to Aqua Blu for a sunset sail to Wayil.​

AM & PM: The Wayil region of Raja Ampat features a number of uncharted islands, each harboring pristine beaches and secret lagoons. Enjoy kayaking among the reefs or head out for swimming and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters.​

AM & PM: Spend the day exploring some of the finest reefs on the planet. Off the remote island of Koon, divers and snorkelers can look forward to visiting ‘Too Many Fish’, an aptly named site with plenty of reef fish sightings as well as occasional pop-ins by leopard sharks and hammerhead sharks. ​

AM: Approach the Banda Islands at sunrise, greeted by Kora-Kora war canoes at the harbor. Stroll through history at the Dutch Fort Nassau on Banda Neira – which used to be the most hotly contested island in the world back in the 16th and 17th century. Walk through ancient passageways now bustling with modern life, yet still showcasing a treasure trove of history.

PM: After lunch, head out for a snorkeling or diving excursion, and end the evening with a sundowner at Fort Belgica.

AM: We dock in Ambon as the ship replenishes itself for the next leg of the journey. Spend this morning partaking in R&R on board Aqua Blu. Enjoy an outdoor gym session, relax in the jacuzzi, or book yourself a spa session.

PM: In the afternoon, head out on a tour of the commonwealth war cemetery.

AM: Head out for an excursion to explore the historical Dutch fortification, Fort Amsterdam, in the coastal town of Hila.

PM: Sail through the afternoon and learn about the incredible history of the spice trade. Next, enjoy a sundowner as Aqua Blu continues sailing to the Banda Islands. While traveling through the deep expanse of the Banda Sea, enact an old naval tradition–‘hands to bathe’–where you jump into the water and swim, floating over depths stretching thousands of meters.

AM & PM: Back to the Banda Islands, spend the day free roaming around Banda Neira and discovering its rich history. Take in the picturesque views and head out on another snorkeling or diving adventure if you like, for more opportunities to spot the region's endemic marine life. Else, take your pick of Aqua Blu's lavish social spaces and spend some time relaxing on board.

AM: At sunrise, arrive at Pulau Ai& Pulau Run, the westernmost of the Banda Islands. Swim, snorkel, and dive in the crystal-clear waters, where you’ll discover stunning coral gardens and reef fish. Afterwards, head ashore for a guided tour of Fort Revenge and its nutmeg store houses.

PM: Spend the afternoon at a pristine beach on Pulau Run, which was traded for the island of Manhattan in 1667 by the British and the Dutch. Witness the sun setting into the sea while enjoying a cocktail party on these historic sands.

AM & PM: Savor a sunrise breakfast onboard against the backdrop of 300-meter-tall cliffs of Pulau Manuk, a volcanic island rising 3 kilometers from the seabed. This is a haven for fish-hunting birds, as well as sea snakes and reef sharks flocking to enjoy the area’s underwater thermal springs.

AM & PM: A playground for snorkelers and divers alike, Serua Island showcases an impressive array of reefs, walls, and incredible soft coral spots. Schools of fish thrive around here, and there is also a possibility of spotting hammerhead sharks. A tiny atoll located in the Banda Sea, Nil Desperandum is blessed with incredible hard coral formations. Spend a full day here, diving and snorkeling near the impressive coral and sponge formations. Revel in the experience as shoals of big fish such as tuna and Spanish mackerel swim by without worry.

AM & PM: Dive around Nyata island in search of hammerhead sharks and rays. Since Romang and Nyata are not part of a National Park, there are opportunities to go fishing here as well. Cruise south towards Telang for snorkeling and kayaking adventures, with a chance to spot rare silver-tip sharks.​

AM & PM: The rugged coastline of Wetar is rarely visited and offers plenty of hidden gems to experience. It features impressive wall dives to encounter sharks, schools of pelagic fishes, as well as majestic manta and mobular rays.​

AM: Arrive at Alor, home to many picturesque fishing villages and surrounded by clear water and vibrant coral reefs which are a must-visit for divers and snorkelers alike. Centuries-old tradition comes to life in the traditional dance performances by the friendly Abui Tribe.

PM: After lunch, enjoy a relaxing afternoon on board as we sail towards Maumere.​

AM: Upon arriving at Maumere, take an afternoon visit to a nearby village. Immerse yourself in the local culture and take in picturesque views of the tropical hills.

PM: Return to the ship for a sun set departure.

AM & PM: Spend the afternoon swimming from the ship and enjoying the calm reefs around Sabulon before viewing your final Komodo sunset of the expedition. ​

AM: Enjoy a delicious breakfast on board before your disembarkation at Labuan Bajo.
