Iberostar and Brazil Tour
You planned the perfect trip for us. Everything worked out beautifully. I will tell you just some of the highlights. We did all the usual tourist things in Rio de Janiero. Even walked the length of Ipanema Beach just so we could sing about the girls from Ipanema. Our guides were outstanding - but of course we had our favorite... Junior in Iguassu. Besides being knowledgeable, he was fun and funny. I recommend all of them but Junior was special.
The hotels were fine but the Villa Amazonia in Manaus is a jewel. The help was so outstanding. The manager couldn't do enough for us. I've talked to others who stayed there and they felt the same way. Our accommodations on the Iberostar Amazon Cruise were fine. We had a nice two bed room with a little balcony overlooking the water. The ship was only half full for the first half of the trip. And then a young group filled out the rest.
We bonded with the other English speakers on the ship. My Spanish didn't go too far and my Portuguese is non existent. Visited an indigenous tribe one day, saw sunrises, sunsets, trekked in the jungle, went fishing for piranha (I caught a sardine), etc, etc. Saw my first pink dolphin and cayman. All in all it was a terrific trip.
