Ananda
Overview
The Ananda is a splendid, 93-foot, wooden Phinisi schooner. She offers private charter cruises for up to six guests who wish to explore eastern Indonesia aboard a vessel reminiscent of the old sailing ships that once traded spice across this region. This purpose-built charter vessel will be exclusively yours, offering you and your family or friends customizable itineraries tailored to your personal wishes and requirements.
Life Onboard
The social hub of the Ananda boat is the open-air lounge deck, with a large, shaded area for outdoor dining. On the top deck there is another lounge area with a table and cushions, where you can relax and enjoy the panoramic views, incredible tropical sunsets, or the magnificent night sky. There is a sound system and even a guitar and a ukulele for your use, as well as a public laptop, Wi-Fi when regionally available, and an i-Pod dock.
The fine crafted wooden interior houses three air-conditioned cabins. The master cabin has an extra-large double bed and the two double cabins have queen beds. All have ensuite bathrooms, safety-deposit boxes, ample storage space and charging ports, and enjoy natural light with port holes and skylights.
There is also an indoor saloon with stained glass windows and lamps, and a huge wooden table where you will be served delicious local and international dishes, prepared by your private chef, using organic ingredients and lots of fresh fish and seafood. Special diets will be catered for upon request.
Activities and Facilities
The Ananda is fully equipped for diving with wet suits, tanks and on-board compressors, fishing gear, water skis, snorkeling gear and a wake board, as well as a life raft, life vests, modern navigation equipment, a first aid kit and oxygen for emergencies. A fast aluminum speed boat will transport you to all the best snorkeling and dive spots, islands, local villages and beaches.
The experienced dive master will escort you on extraordinary dives away from the crowds, where you will discover a rich marine environment with pristine coral reefs and seamounts that are home to a vast diversity of marine creatures, including colorful reef fish, manta rays, reef sharks, dolphins and turtles.
You can participate in water sports, swim in clear waters, hike the rolling hills at sunset or sunrise for unforgettable views, visit volcanic lakes, meet the Komodo dragons, relish beach picnics and BBQs, go birdwatching, or simply relax on board.
Destinations
Whilst an Ananda cruise usually explores the Komodo National Park, with its incredible marine life, pink and white sand beaches, savannah hills, wildlife and Komodo dragons, custom itineraries can be created all around eastern Indonesia (subject to relocation fees and fuel surcharges). Kelimutu volcano in Flores, with its three striking volcanic crater lakes that independently change color to blue, green, pink, or brown, because of changes in the underlying gases and elements, is well worth a visit, as is Riung fishing village, known as the gateway to the 17 Islands National Park.
The Lesser Sunda Islands include the Gili Islands and Lombok, Moyo Island with its rivers and waterfalls, and the mysterious crater-lake island of Satonda. Wakatobi Marine National Park in Sulawesi offers sleepy local villages and world-class exploration diving. Also in Sulawesi, you can visit Bira, which is the center of the traditional Indonesian boat-building culture, as well as the island of Selayar and the island group of Taka Bonerate. You can even go on special fishing charters to the fish-rich waters of Sumba.
Perfect for families and groups of friends, the kid-friendly Ananda has no fixed schedule so you can decide where you’d like to go and what you’d like to do along the way and the team will customize a route for you.
