Belle Amazon

A spacious, character-filled riverboat offering stylish cruises through Pará’s remote Tapajós region.

Overview

The Belle Amazon stands out as the most versatile and charismatic vessel in her fleet. Full of personality and stretching 96 feet in length, she combines the authenticity of a traditional Amazonian boat with upgraded comfort and thoughtful design. Accommodating up to 16 guests in 8 air-conditioned cabins, including a king-bedded master suite, Belle Amazon is ideal for families with children, groups of friends, or even small corporate retreats looking to discover a rarely visited corner of the Brazilian Amazon around Santarém.

Life On Board

The interiors are warmly styled with local touches, while the expansive indoor and outdoor common areas invite both special social moments and quiet contemplation. Supported by a long-standing local crew known for personalized service and a knowledge of the region, every little detail make guests feel at home in the heart of the world’s greatest rainforest.

Each deck has been thoughtfully designed to balance privacy, comfort, and connection with the surrounding nature. Above the hardworking heart of the vessel, Belle Amazon’s second deck beckons guests with five air-conditioned cabins, four ‘bunk’ cabins with small doubles and a single bed above, and the expansive Master Cabin, which features a king-size bed, panoramic windows, and a private bathroom for the ultimate retreat. This deck also houses the panoramic dining room, where guests gather over delicious regional cuisine, while watching the river roll by.

The third deck is where social life flourishes. Here, you’ll find four standard double cabins, each with a small double bed (this time without the single berth above) and private bathroom, and a mix of indoor and outdoor common areas perfect for relaxing or socializing. The air-conditioned lounge bar is ideal for reading or enjoying a handcrafted cocktail, while the adjacent semi-open balcony lounge offers shaded seating with cooling breezes and unforgettable views.

The open sundeck crowns the top of the vessel, providing a front-row seat to Amazonian sunsets, stargazing under the jungle canopy, or simply soaking in the vastness of the breathtaking scenery in every direction.

Varied Itinerary Options

Sailing through the stunning Tapajós and Arapiuns Rivers in the Pará region of Brazil, Belle Amazon unlocks access to a side of the Amazon rarely visited by tourists. This lesser-known corridor offers some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the basin: white-sand river beaches, crystalline blackwater lagoons, and sprawling, untouched forests.

Each itinerary, ranging from 4-6 days in length, is tailored, allowing guests to choose their pace and preferences—from hiking through jungle trails and visiting riverside villages to swimming in mirror-still waters or paddling through flooded igapó forests. Beautifully produced beach dinners are a real highlight, while cultural exchanges with local communities reveal a timeless lifestyle rooted in sustainability and harmony with nature, and daily wildlife sightings—from sloths to dolphins to toucans—add awe to every moment.

Cruising aboard the Belle Amazon feels like stepping into a living, breathing Eden—yet one where you’re pampered with comfort and care. You’ll experience wonder with every bend in the river and emerge with unforgettable memories, deeper connections with your companions, and a newfound sense of peace born from drifting slowly through one of the world’s last great wildernesses.

Belle Amazon is perfect for those seeking a shared adventure with loved ones in the complete privacy of a private charter cruise (or with fellow like-minded explorers on her few and in-demand regular departures) far from the crowds and closer to nature than you ever imagined.

Note: If your group is a smaller or larger, the Belle Amazon has two sister boats—Tupaiu (4 cabins, up to 10 guests) and Amazon Dolphin (11 cabins, up to 22 guests)—which can be chartered instead or in addition.

Embarkation

PM: Starting at 12 noon, we will board passengers from Alter do Chão and Santarém. To welcome you to the confluence of the forest with the vastness of the waters, we will stop at a charming beach on the Tapajós River.

Everyone is invited to take the first of many refreshing dives into the Amazon in Pará. From the green waters of the Tapajós, we will sail towards the white waters of the Jari Channel, part of the same ecosystem as the famous Amazon River. Because it is a nutrient-richer river, we can hear and observe the diversity of birds and other animal species. Get your camera ready: river dolphins may show up and swim alongside our boat. As we travel through this lush nature, we are rewarded with beautiful views of both varying shades of water and rich wildlife.

After toasting with local fruit drinks as the sun sets across the Amazon skyline, we will proceed to the black waters of the Arapiuns River surrounded by a sky full of stars. You will taste the delicious cuisine of Pará served on board in typical appetizers and dishes prepared by our team.

The Healing Power of the Forest

AM: Waking up every day to a different dazzling view of the Amazon - that is one of the delights of sailing with us. With the boat moored off a small white sand beach in front of Atodi Village, we will depart for an immersion in the primeval forest, guided by its guardians. A female chief, a medicine woman, and other women take the lead in this community and will guide us along the trail in the forest while telling us stories and sharing their knowledge.

The topic of the day is forest medicine, which will be presented to us along the hike and then we will see a demonstration of how plants and barks are used in the preparation of medicines.

The trail ends at a beautiful igarapé ( small river creek) of crystal-clear waters. We will return to the boat to rest, have lunch, and have free time to enjoy a bath in the river.

PM: At the end of the day, we will take a canoe ride in the Atodi lagoon. To the sound of the best music from Pará, a special dinner at the beach will be waiting for us to celebrate the coming of night.

Nicknamed the “grandma of the forest” because the tree is about 600 years old according to expert calculations, this Amazon giant is extremely generous. Its long branches and dense canopy provide a home and support for several species of plants, birds, and other animals. The hike can be shortened, according to the group’s preference.
