How to Get to the La Selva Lodge
The journey to the La Selva Lodge begins in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. Quito is well-connected with the world, through its international airport. There are daily and regular flights connecting major cities in South and Central America, as well as good connections with North America (via Miami, New York, Houston and Atlanta) and Europe (direct from Madrid and Amsterdam).
On the day of your departure, a representatives will meet you at the Quito Airport. Your English-speaking airport representative will give you all of the documents you’ll need, including boarding passes, for your next national flight to Coca. He or she will also help you check your luggage. The maximum weight allowed is 20 kg (44 pounds) per passenger. The representative will tell you a little about your trip and answer any questions you may have. After the flight to Coca, lasting approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the town of Coca, where another La Selva Representative will be waiting for you to take you to the La Selva Lodge.

Once in Coca, you will board a river canoe that travels for about two hours on the Napo River, a tributary of the Amazon. It’s a very scenic journey. There is a short walk through the jungle to a wide creek. There, a smaller, hand paddled canoe will be waiting to take you across Garzacocha Lagoon to the Lodge. All in all, the journey from Quito to La Selva takes about four or five hours. This service is included.
