Cristalino Lodge

Contemporary eco-sanctuary on the banks of the Rio Cristalino in Brazil's biodiverse southern Amazon.

Overview

The mission of Cristalino Lodge is two-fold; protect the rainforest while also providing engaging ecotourism activities within the southern Amazon. The way the lodge carries out that mission is nothing short of astonishing. From the exotic comfort of its contemporary accommodations to the highly trained guides, Cristalino Lodge pays meticulous attention to every detail, ensuring your time in the Brazilian Amazon is all you could hope for.

Life At The Lodge

Nestled on the banks of the River Cristalino within a large nature reserve, Rio Cristalino Lodge seamlessly blends into its surroundings so that you will always feel connected to the rainforest. At night, screened windows allow you to drift off to the babble of the river and nocturnal wildlife sounds, while ceiling air vents provide ample ventilation. Much more than a collection of buildings, every aspect of the lodge is an experience to savor.

Gaze up at the starry sky while sipping a drink at the riverside bar. Enjoy a candlelit dinner at the lodge’s restaurant, take a nap in a swaying hammock and wash your cares away in an outdoor bathtub. Satisfy your curiosity about the region in the reading room stocked with education materials on biodiversity and ornithology, and log onto the Wi-Fi to share your stories with friends back home.

To experience ultimate peace, stroll over the suspended bridge to the floating dock. Take a book, settle into a lounge chair or a rocker under a parasol and take in the sights and sounds of this remarkable part of the world. Both professional and amateur shutterbugs will love the early-morning photography programs, which provide a chance to snap shots of monkeys, butterflies, and reptiles.

Exciting Excursions

There is no single way to experience the Amazon, so Cristalino Lodge has developed a range of programs that are relevant to guests of all ages, which are sure to speak to your interests and spark your passion. Grab your binoculars and join one of the birdwatching activities to observe and learn about the habitats of the 586 species found in the area.

Canoe trips, often combined with hiking activities, are perfect for spotting capped herons, white-whiskered spider monkeys, and kingfishers. You’ll also be able to take nature walks on 18.5 miles of trails, glide down the river on boat trips and climb two 165-foot observation towers for sweeping views of the landscape and the chance to see the wildlife that lives high in the treetops.

Biodiversity Conservation

Cristalino Lodge is nestled within a private nature reserve measuring 44 square miles. By establishing this protected area, which borders the massive Cristalino State Park, the lodge protects the habitats of a wide variety of species. The nature reserve is divided into four areas dedicated to conservation, environmental education, responsible tourism, and ongoing research.

This luxurious lodge has something for everyone, including honeymooning couples, families and groups of friends. For certain, anyone who has a passion for exploration and conservancy is destined to fall for Cristalino Lodge.
